Description

Blackened Shrimp is a flavorful and spicy seafood dish where shrimp is coated in a smoky, bold seasoning and then quickly seared to perfection. It’s a quick and easy recipe, perfect for adding a kick to salads, tacos, or served over rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  2. 1 tbsp paprika
  3. 1 tsp garlic powder
  4. 1 tsp onion powder
  5. 1 tsp dried thyme
  6. 1 tsp dried oregano
  7. ½ tsp cayenne pepper (adjust for spice level)
  8. ½ tsp salt
  9. ¼ tsp black pepper
  10. 1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)
  11. 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, mix together paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, oregano, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
  • Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels, then coat them evenly with the spice mixture on all sides.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Once the oil is hot, add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until the shrimp are opaque and slightly charred on the edges.
  • Remove from heat, drizzle with lemon juice if desired, and serve hot.

Notes
