Description

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup mixed dried fruits (raisins, cranberries, apricots)
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Activate Yeast: Mix warm milk and sugar, then add yeast. Let it foam for 5 minutes.
  2. Prepare Dough: Combine flour, salt, cinnamon, yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg. Knead until smooth.
  3. Add Fruits: Fold in the dried fruits and knead until evenly distributed.
  4. First Rise: Cover and let the dough rise for 1 hour or until doubled.
  5. Shape: Shape into a loaf or braid, place on a baking sheet, and let rise for 30 minutes.
  6. Bake: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • Brush the top with butter for a soft crust.
  • Sprinkle powdered sugar or drizzle icing for a festive touch.
