Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Chicken:
    • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • 2 large eggs, beaten
    • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
    • Salt and pepper to taste
  • For the Orange Sauce:
    • 1/2 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed preferred)
    • 1/4 cup soy sauce
    • 1/4 cup honey
    • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
    • 1 tsp sesame oil
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 tsp grated ginger
    • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (for thickening)
  • Garnish:
    • Sesame seeds
    • Sliced green onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the Chicken:
    • Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper.
    • Coat each piece in flour, dip into beaten eggs, then roll in panko breadcrumbs.
    • Place on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
  3. Bake the Chicken:
    • Bake for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Make the Orange Sauce:
    • In a small saucepan, combine orange juice, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
    • Add the cornstarch slurry and stir until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat.
  5. Coat the Chicken:
    • Transfer the baked chicken to a large bowl. Pour the orange sauce over the chicken and toss until evenly coated.
  6. Serve and Garnish:
    • Serve warm over steamed rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, broil the chicken for 1–2 minutes after baking.
  • You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven.
