- For the Chicken:
- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- For the Orange Sauce:
- 1/2 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed preferred)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (for thickening)
- Garnish:
- Sesame seeds
- Sliced green onions
Instructions
- Preheat Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the Chicken:
- Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper.
- Coat each piece in flour, dip into beaten eggs, then roll in panko breadcrumbs.
- Place on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
- Bake the Chicken:
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through.
- Make the Orange Sauce:
- In a small saucepan, combine orange juice, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- Add the cornstarch slurry and stir until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat.
- Coat the Chicken:
- Transfer the baked chicken to a large bowl. Pour the orange sauce over the chicken and toss until evenly coated.
- Serve and Garnish:
- Serve warm over steamed rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, broil the chicken for 1–2 minutes after baking.
- You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven.
