Description

A rich, velvety dish layered with tender sweet potatoes and infused with a creamy, cheesy sauce—perfect for holidays or cozy dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs sweet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp thyme (fresh or dried)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Gruyère or mozzarella cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Prepare the Sauce: In a saucepan, heat cream, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes, then remove from heat.
  3. Layer the Potatoes: Arrange half of the sweet potatoes in the dish. Pour over half the cream mixture and sprinkle with cheeses. Repeat the layers.
  4. Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil, bake for another 20-25 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  5. Serve: Let cool slightly, garnish with parsley, and enjoy!
