Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk, until just combined.
- Roll the dough into balls, then roll each ball in sugar before placing on the baking sheet.
- Flatten each ball slightly with the back of a spoon.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Prepare the cake mix according to the package instructions, using water, oil, and eggs. Bake as directed and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
- While the cake is cooling, dissolve the strawberry Jello in 1 cup of boiling water. Stir in 1 cup of cold water and mix until fully dissolved.
- Once the cake has cooled slightly, use a fork to poke holes all over the cake.
- Pour the prepared Jello over the cake, allowing it to soak into the holes. Let the cake cool completely in the pan.
- Once the cake is cooled, spread whipped topping evenly over the cake.
- Top with fresh sliced strawberries before serving.
