Description

These Heart-Shaped Chocolate Chip Cookies are the perfect treat for Valentine’s Day, anniversaries, or any special occasion. They combine the classic taste of chocolate chip cookies with a sweet heart shape, making them extra fun and festive!

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  2. ½ tsp baking soda
  3. ¼ tsp salt
  4. ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  5. ¾ cup granulated sugar
  6. ¾ cup packed brown sugar
  7. 1 tsp vanilla extract
  8. 1 large egg
  9. 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  • Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • Make the Dough: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes. Add the vanilla extract and egg, mixing until fully combined.
  • Add the Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing just until incorporated. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Shape the Cookies: To make the heart shape, take about 1 tablespoon of dough and roll it into a ball. Flatten the ball into a thick disk with your hands. Use your fingers or a knife to shape the edges into a heart. Place the heart-shaped dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake the Cookies: Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers should still be soft. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Optional: Decorate: For an extra touch, you can drizzle melted chocolate over the cooled cookies or decorate with colorful sprinkles.

Notes

  • If you don’t have a heart-shaped cookie cutter, you can easily shape the cookies by hand, or use a stencil to create the heart shape.
  • For a different flavor twist, you can add a handful of chopped nuts, like walnuts or pecans, to the dough
