Description

A savory and satisfying dish, this beef fried rice is loaded with tender beef, colorful vegetables, and fragrant rice, all stir-fried to perfection. A quick and delicious meal that’s perfect for any time of the day!

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 1 lb beef (sirloin or flank steak), thinly sliced
  2. 3 cups cooked rice (preferably cold)
  3. 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  4. 1/2 cup onion, diced
  5. 1/2 cup bell pepper, diced
  6. 1/2 cup carrots, julienned
  7. 2 garlic cloves, minced
  8. 2 eggs, beaten
  9. 3 tbsp soy sauce
  10. 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  11. 1 tsp sesame oil
  12. 2 green onions, chopped
  13. Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the beef slices, season with salt and pepper, and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef and set aside.
  • In the same pan, add the remaining oil and sauté the onion, bell pepper, carrots, and garlic until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Push the vegetables to one side and pour the beaten eggs into the empty space in the pan. Scramble the eggs until cooked.
  • Add the cold rice to the pan, breaking up any clumps. Stir everything together.
  • Return the cooked beef to the pan, then add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Mix well.
  • Stir in the green onions and cook for another 1-2 minutes until heated through.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning with more soy sauce, salt, or pepper if needed. Serve hot!

Notes

  • Using cold rice is key to getting the perfect fried rice texture.
  • You can add other vegetables like peas or corn for more flavor and color.
  • For extra spice, add a dash of chili flakes or hot sauce.
