Description

This Easy Tomato Cream Sauce is rich, creamy, and bursting with flavor. With just a few simple ingredients, you can elevate any pasta, chicken, or vegetable dish with this smooth, luscious sauce. A perfect blend of tangy tomatoes and velvety cream for a comforting meal!

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 1 tbsp olive oil
  2. 1 small onion, finely chopped
  3. 2 garlic cloves, minced
  4. 1 can (14.5 oz) crushed tomatoes
  5. 1/2 cup heavy cream
  6. 1/2 tsp dried basil
  7. 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  8. Salt and pepper, to taste
  9. Fresh basil, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, and sauté until softened and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Stir in crushed tomatoes, basil, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to combine.
  • Reduce heat and stir in heavy cream. Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  • Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve over your favorite pasta or dish, garnished with fresh basil if desired.

Notes

  • For a thicker sauce, simmer longer to reduce the liquid.
  • You can use half-and-half or milk for a lighter version of this sauce.
  • This sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
