Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 8 oz fettuccine pasta (or pasta of your choice)
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Cook the fettuccine (or your chosen pasta) according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Cook the beef: While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned and cooked through (about 5-7 minutes). Drain any excess fat.
- Sauté the aromatics: Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the beef. Cook for 2-3 minutes until softened and fragrant. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Make the Alfredo sauce: In a separate saucepan, bring heavy cream and milk to a simmer over medium heat. Stir in Parmesan cheese and cook, whisking constantly, until the sauce is smooth and thickened (about 5-7 minutes).
- Combine: Pour the Alfredo sauce over the cooked ground beef mixture. Stir to combine. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce and beef.
- Finish the dish: Stir in shredded mozzarella cheese until melted and well-combined. Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt or pepper if needed.
- Serve: Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve hot.
Notes
- For added richness, you can use all heavy cream instead of mixing with milk.
- If you like a bit of heat, add red pepper flakes to the ground beef while cooking.
- This dish pairs wonderfully with a simple side salad or garlic bread.
