Description

This Honey Garlic Shrimp, Sausage, and Broccoli dish is packed with flavor and nutrition. The combination of juicy shrimp, savory sausage, and crisp-tender broccoli is coated in a deliciously sweet and savory honey garlic sauce. It’s a quick, easy, and satisfying meal perfect for a busy weeknight.

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 1 tablespoon olive oil
  2. 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  3. 2 sausage links (about 8 oz), sliced (preferably chicken or turkey sausage)
  4. 2 cups broccoli florets
  5. 3 cloves garlic, minced
  6. 1/4 cup honey
  7. 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  8. 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
  9. 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional for spice)
  10. Salt and pepper to taste
  11. Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Cook the Sausage and Shrimp:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sausage slices and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  • Sauté the Broccoli and Garlic:
In the same skillet, add the broccoli florets and cook for about 3-4 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Make the Honey Garlic Sauce:
In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar (or lemon juice), and red pepper flakes (if using). Pour the sauce over the broccoli and garlic mixture, stirring to coat evenly.
  • Cook the Shrimp:
Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until they turn pink and opaque, stirring occasionally.
  • Combine and Serve:
Add the cooked sausage back to the skillet and stir everything together to combine. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to ensure everything is heated through. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Garnish and Serve:
Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can substitute the sausage with your choice of protein, like chicken or turkey breast, for a leaner option.
  • If you prefer a spicier kick, add more red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce to the sauce mixture.
