Description

These Paleo Chocolate Sugar Cookies are the perfect blend of rich chocolate flavor and delicate sweetness, all while being completely grain-free and refined sugar-free. Made with almond flour and sweetened with maple syrup, they’re a healthier twist on traditional chocolate sugar cookies that everyone will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 1 1/2 cups almond flour
  2. 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  3. 1/4 cup coconut flour
  4. 1/4 cup maple syrup
  5. 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
  6. 1 large egg
  7. 1 tsp vanilla extract
  8. 1/2 tsp baking soda
  9. Pinch of salt
  10. 1/4 cup coconut sugar (for rolling, optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, combine almond flour, cocoa powder, coconut flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the egg, maple syrup, melted coconut oil, and vanilla extract.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
  • Roll dough into tablespoon-sized balls, then roll each ball in coconut sugar if desired.
  • Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet and flatten slightly with a fork or your hands.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are firm and slightly cracked. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • For a festive touch, add some chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate to the dough before baking.
  • These cookies are slightly soft when warm but will firm up as they cool.
