For the Brownie Layer:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp red food coloring
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
For the Cheesecake Layer:
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine melted butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and food coloring. Mix until smooth.
- Sift in flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt, and stir until just combined.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- For the cheesecake layer, beat together cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
- Spoon the cheesecake mixture over the brownie layer and swirl gently with a knife to create a marbled effect.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before slicing into bars.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a touch of lemon zest to the cheesecake layer.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- To enhance the red velvet flavor, add a teaspoon of vinegar to the brownie batter.
