- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

- 1 egg
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped

- 1 cup French onion soup (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/2 cup shredded Gruyère or Swiss cheese
Instructions
- Make the Meatballs: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic powder, thyme, salt, and pepper. Roll into 1-inch meatballs.
- Cook the Onions: Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes.
- Bake the Meatballs: Arrange the meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, until cooked through.
- Simmer in Soup: In a large pan, pour in the French onion soup. Add the meatballs and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
- Top with Cheese: Sprinkle shredded Gruyère or Swiss cheese over the meatballs and soup, then broil for 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
