Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil, divided
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, mix soy sauce and cornstarch. Add the beef slices and toss to coat. Let marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix beef broth, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and black pepper. Set aside.
  3. Cook the Beef: Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Sauté Vegetables: Add the remaining oil to the skillet. Stir-fry the bell peppers and onions for 3-4 minutes until slightly softened. Add the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
  5. Combine and Simmer: Return the beef to the skillet. Pour the sauce over the beef and vegetables, stirring to coat. Simmer for 2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  6. Serve: Serve hot over cooked rice. Enjoy the sizzling goodness!
