Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Season chicken breasts with paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chicken and cook until golden brown on both sides (about 5 minutes per side). Remove chicken and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add sliced onions and garlic, cooking until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Sprinkle flour over the onions and garlic, stirring to form a roux. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Slowly add chicken broth, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens.
- Stir in heavy cream and return chicken to the skillet. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a dash of hot sauce.
