Description

These Soft Chocolate Sugar Cookies are a delicious twist on the classic sugar cookie! With a rich chocolate flavor and a soft, chewy texture, these cookies are perfect for any occasion and sure to satisfy your sweet tooth.

 


Ingredients

  1. 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  2. 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  3. 1 tsp baking soda
  4. 1/4 tsp salt
  5. 1/2 cup butter (softened)
  6. 1 cup sugar
  7. 1 large egg
  8. 1 tsp vanilla extract
  9. 1/4 cup milk
  10. Extra sugar for rolling

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk, until just combined.
  • Roll the dough into balls, then roll each ball in sugar before placing on the baking sheet.
  • Flatten each ball slightly with the back of a spoon.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  • Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top before baking.
