Description

A fun, colorful dessert that’s as delicious as it is easy to make! This Strawberry Poke Cake features a moist cake with holes poked into it, filled with sweet strawberry Jell-O, and topped with fluffy whipped cream. Perfect for parties, gatherings, or any time you’re craving a refreshing treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 1 box of white cake mix (plus ingredients to prepare as directed on the box)
  2. 1 (3 oz) box strawberry Jell-O
  3. 1 cup boiling water
  4. 1 cup cold water
  5. 1 (8 oz) tub whipped topping
  6. 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prepare the white cake mix according to the package directions and bake in a 9×13-inch baking dish. Let the cake cool for about 15 minutes.
  • While the cake is cooling, dissolve the strawberry Jell-O in 1 cup boiling water. Stir until completely dissolved. Then add 1 cup cold water and mix well.
  • Once the cake has cooled slightly, use the end of a wooden spoon or a straw to poke holes all over the cake.
  • Pour the Jell-O mixture evenly over the cake, allowing it to soak into the holes. Let the cake cool completely.
  • Once cooled, spread whipped topping over the entire cake.
  • Garnish with chopped fresh strawberries, if desired.
  • Chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute the white cake mix with a strawberry or angel food cake for extra flavor.
  • If you prefer, you can also add a layer of fresh whipped cream or vanilla pudding underneath the topping for added richness.
