Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 12-cup muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture, alternating with milk, until combined.
- Add a few drops of pink food coloring if desired.
- Divide batter evenly into muffin tin cups and bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- While cupcakes cool, make the frosting by beating butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
- Frost cupcakes with a generous swirl of frosting and top with heart-shaped sprinkles.
