Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder (for rolling)
- 1/4 cup sprinkles (optional, for decoration)
- 1 tbsp butter (optional, for extra richness)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it starts to simmer (but not boil).
- Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate and let it sit for a minute. Stir until smooth and creamy.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and butter (if using) until fully combined.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate the chocolate mixture for 1-2 hours, or until firm enough to scoop.
- Once the mixture is firm, use a spoon or melon baller to scoop out small portions and roll them into balls.
- Roll each truffle in cocoa powder or sprinkles, then place them on a parchment-lined tray.
- Refrigerate the truffles for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow them to set.
Notes
- Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor.
- Customize the truffles with different coatings like chopped nuts, or drizzle with melted chocolate for added flair.
- If you prefer a softer truffle, adjust the amount of cream.
