Description

Treat your loved ones (or yourself!) to these decadent, melt-in-your-mouth chocolate truffles. Perfectly sweet, creamy, and irresistible, these homemade truffles make the ideal Valentine’s Day gift or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 8 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped
  2. 1/2 cup heavy cream
  3. 1 tsp vanilla extract
  4. 1/4 cup cocoa powder (for rolling)
  5. 1/4 cup sprinkles (optional, for decoration)
  6. 1 tbsp butter (optional, for extra richness)

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it starts to simmer (but not boil).
  • Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate and let it sit for a minute. Stir until smooth and creamy.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract and butter (if using) until fully combined.
  • Cover the bowl and refrigerate the chocolate mixture for 1-2 hours, or until firm enough to scoop.
  • Once the mixture is firm, use a spoon or melon baller to scoop out small portions and roll them into balls.
  • Roll each truffle in cocoa powder or sprinkles, then place them on a parchment-lined tray.
  • Refrigerate the truffles for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow them to set.

Notes

  • Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor.
  • Customize the truffles with different coatings like chopped nuts, or drizzle with melted chocolate for added flair.
  • If you prefer a softer truffle, adjust the amount of cream.
